The main museum building, named in honor of art collectors and philanthropists Arnold A. Saltzman and his wife Joan, is a three-story Georgian-style mansion that exemplifies Gold Coast architecture of the late 19th century. Now the painted-aluminum brush strokes by Roy Lichtenstein that familiarly mark the entrance to the Parrishs grounds also anchor "Field of Dreams," an evolving assemblage of some dozen works accessed by pathways that crisscross the venues expansive landscape. Byrce commissioned architect Ogden Codman, Jr to design Byrce House (currently the house which houses the Nassau County Art Museums artwork.) Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848-1933). The Education Department additionally sponsors extensive programming for children, adults and family groups and also offers professional development to Long Islands educators.
